well in april my parents got me my first car its a 1988 crx si with a swap sohc d16zc. it is a work in progress. i purchased the car for 1200 the car runs great. new battery and alternator came with the car. i had to install them but that was it. here are some pics. I'm only 16 but i am really inspired by you guys on here. my plans are to slamm it and throw some sportmax rims on it. interior work im just gna get that diy kit of seat covers that give it that oem look.

and i hate to say it BUT. i think you bought that car way overpriced for the condition it was in. and also Please add some tech to this thread before it gets locked. I just went on a 3 page argument on another member that refused to add tech and he got it locked.

oh my bad i get it now. well too answear you question the car is a zc my bad..and well i hope buy tein coilovers or som sort of coilovers slamm it and throw some sportmax rims. im not really crazy bout speed soo nothing to the motor but an exhaust maybe. the motor only has 76xxx miles on it and the interior its damage but just the seats so im going to get that diy kit of covers that give it that oem look.

 

I like it man, my first car was a 91 si, luna is right you do need some "tech" in this thread, but I dont really agree with him about you getting screwed on the price. Trying to find a CRX these days without quarter rust is like trying to find an 18 year old virgin.....they're out there but you really gotta look. So just take your time on your mods, make SMART mods, and enjoy the CRX you'll love it forever no matter how stupid people that dont own one think they look.

 

yea thanks man. and thats wat im saying wen i saw how much th guy wanted i said im getting it. the car has very little damage(i need moldings,oem look seat covers) thats it the motor is great and i love my little car

 

I live in cali so i dont have to worry about rust like everyone else LOL.

all 3 that i've owned never had a tad bit of rust

yeah just make sure you do everything right the first time and dont half *** the jobs on it. and "slamming" it isnt a good idea on stock shocks just save and give it a nice drop on good shocks/springs

and i was selling my rex for $1200 with the B16A2 swap and no go so i sold it shell/motor/trans/axles/harness/linkage/mounts etc. and made $1500..

everyone one cali tries to low ball you for EVERYTHING!

 

Haha everyone everywhere tries to lowball, Hell I do it to.......its always worth a shot. The one thing a lot of people especially in the Honda community don't seem to understand is that you will never even get back 50% of what you spent on mods or building a car. You might not have rust in Cali but you have plenty of other stupid car/ emissions laws to equal it out

Yeah man, nice find! first things first replace the broken/worn parts. The best thing to do is to get it all back to stock, then put your addons on. Nobody likes a car with awesome suspension, but shitty paint and interior. SAVE SAVE SAVE! you're young so you dont have to pay rent and all that just so save your money for QUALITY springs/shocks/paint and whatnot. Stay away from the rice. in my opinion when you do paint it, kill that barbados yellow. anything but that god awful color. haha.

hey, OP. i got a little confused with your first post. did you buy it or did your parents (not that it really matters). i just got confused when you said your parents got it for you and you paid the $1200 for it.

are you gonna stick with the y49 color or change it up? any other plans besides suspension and wheels?
