Default desperate help with transmission please

just today, my stick shift started wiggle ALL over the place, and it actually "twists" when going into gear.
it is sooooo sloppy, i can get into 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gear, but not 5th or reverse.
its REALLY sloppy, u can really wiggle it from side to side in 4th gear. its like the gears have no "walls" if u know what i mean!??? *sigh* i hope its not a big fix

please help with any ideas as to whats going on here! i'd be happy to answer any Q's u might have for me to help solve this!

thanx everyone

EDIT: i forgot to mention its on a 90 honda crx si, engine is a sohc ZC, and assuming its either an SI tranny or ZC.

inspect the shifter assembly under the car. more than likely a bushing there or at the transmission has failed. it's also possible something may have broke. just get under there and take a look.

I second on the shift linkage assembly as D16SiHatch said. I doubt the tranny just mess up like that, but I suppose you never know.

Theres no special bushing for short throws, its the same bushing as the stock.

alright i jacked up the car, and from what i can see, the through bolt for the shift rod is almost literally out, along with the torque rod mounting bracket is apart as well!
i would fix it but i dont have jack stands! and i have 8x8" chunks of wood but they are huuuuge in length

thanx guys for the help! mucho appreciated!
