BMW has released a video, details, and photos on the 1-series by M division, looks like it'll be called the "1M"

Ugh, the 1 Series is so wack. My disinterest in modern BMWs instantly turns to hating whenever I see all the cubicle-jockies drooling. They should never have put this new yuppiemobile anywhere near an E30
I'd have to hear more about the drivetrain, suspension, etc. but I'll hope for a nice driver's car but expect a fail.

I've heard a lot of negative about the 1 series in general when it comes to balance and how the power + the short wheelbase makes it -less- balanced then the rest of the sport coupes in the BMW stable. My assumption is that the M version will correct this, and while you will have a ton of low level management business douches finally able to afford a Bimmer with an M on it (which will lose it most of it's possible cred) it will still turn out to be a rather capable car. I'm interested in two things: price, and how much weight they can cut out of the current piggies with 1 badges.
Seems people either love or hate the 1 series. I think it's a great idea and an M version the "cherry on top."
To be frank, Acura has really got to step up their product offerings or the Honda faithful will be marching lock-step into the arms of BMW.

Not worth the money, IMO. Spend the exstra few grand a get a 3-series. The weight difference is not very big, the 3 has more features, more space, and IMO is a much better looking car.
I'm sure it will be a fun little car, but It will probably cost as much as a 335i.

For the money, I don't see why one would be a new 1-series over a certified 3-series.
