Does anyone have any details on the differences between the front and rear "A" emblems? I am replacing my Honda emblems with the originals but I only have one "A" and I don't know if it's front or rear. I'd like to know which one I need to buy without taking the current ones off, so any hole dimensions, pictures, numbers would be helpful. Thanks.

 

i always thought that the rear one was more "square-ish" than the hood one...

does the one you have still have the part number somewhere?

It has a number on it (which I don't have at the moment) that isn't the part number.

also, where did you get the badge you have currently? is it from your 1998 ITR? or did you find it somewhere else? the part numbers i posted are for the 1998 badges.

 

The front A emblem will be convex on the front and concave in the rear to accomodate the curvature of the front bumper, IIRC. Rear emblem should be mostly flat.

 

Correct. When you place the emblems on the car its very easy to tell which is which.

the only difference between them is the 2 pegs at the back, they are different position. that's why you can't put the rear emblem in the front bumper and have different part #.

 

You sure about that? Mine didn't have pegs on them and are OEM.

 

They should have pegs for alignment of the emblem, which is why there are two holes in the bumper and two holes on the hatch.
