Default Looking to copy a car

hey guys, i currently drive a 92 lude and i dont have the slightest idea on what to do with anything. So i was wondering if any of you would be willing to let me "copy" your car exterior wise and a bit of engine. If you are giving me permission to, i want to ask if i can contact you outside of HT for pictures and specs(: and possibly some other questions regarding my new project.

judging by your posts you're gonna get slammed by everyone on here so just be prepared. That's okay, you're young and we all gotta start somewhere. I'd say about 95% percent of people that post on here are jerks and will just talk **** unless you do some research.

My advice is to just read as much as you can, that's what i did when i first got my lude and didn't attempt anything till about a year after i found this site among others and studied. It helps if you have service manuals also, that way you learn where everything is at and how it operates

lol yeah becuase it costs SOOOO much to fix up a 92-96 prelude. Plus having mommy and daddy's credit car is a crime or something?

When I was 17, I had a SR swapped 240SX. I was always poor...but I had a nice car haha. Anyone can do it. It doesn't really cost THAT much.

lol it actually is pretty pricey...ive put over $2.5k into my motor alone including $900 in labor...i did have carbon fiber hood, trunk, and a nice set of rims and tires for that around $1800...and thats not including other body mods this kid is prly interested in...and i do think it is bad to be able to fix up ur car with mommy and daddys credit card...spoiled brats everything ive bought for my car was my hard earned money

^Well labor is where your gonna spend more money most of the time, I can't remember the last time I payed someone to touch my car if you don't count the guy building the exhaust piping.

I think the better question is, "I just bought a prelude.....what can you tell me from experience do i do now?"

Good place to start might be suspension, wheels, and tires......never a bad idea to get new tires with a new car. Choose a suspension that is comfortable and choose a wheel size of 15" or 16" (17" is an option but is usually too big).

Then you will decidethat you may want to just swap an H22 motor mostly stock, or you will crave horsepower and have two choices; NA (all motor) or boost (turbo).

You should just buy an already built one jk

Why copy someone else's project when you have a blank slate to do whatever you please and make it YOURS?

well i had to...the machine shop had to hone the mains and the cylinders when i spun a rod and also attach h22 pistons to h23rods all stuff i dont have tools for, so thats why i decided to do a build...basically all im saying is work your *** of kid...dont touch your car until ur atleast 21-22 so you some what know what your into more or less if your into the sleek sleeper look(all go no show) or if your into the the ricer scene(all show no go) or if your in between i promise you it will help u in the long run from going back on what you did to your car and wasting your money...gl

I worked at a jiffy lube during high school and because I still lived at home I was able to put practically my whole check to my car so I was able to afford basic bolt ons. thats my two cents. lol

Im 16. Just look around and see what you like. If you copy others now, and dont learn ****, you wont know a thing on your next car.

Do what I did and didnt do. Do not buy a project car lude if you have to make a thread asking what you asked. Do get a sweet suspension setup like I did that slams the lude. lol Do get wheels with a low offset. Do not buy a body kit. Do buy a simple lip. (makes the car look lower) Do engine work. Do get JDM headlights lol Good luck amigo

Whilst this is theoretically ambiguous, in practice these two notations may easily be distinguished because the height of the side-wall of an automotive tire is typically much less than the width
