Its located under the distributor and a coolent hose as well as my strut bar, so what would be the easiest way of going about replacing it?

 

Disconnect you negative terminal in the battery, remove the strut brace, remove the air intake hose, drain the coolant, remove the upper and lower hose's from the block, remove the 12mm nut that attaching that positive wire to the starter, then remove the two 12mm bolts holding the starter in. It really is a 15min procedure.

I'm sure that you can do it without draining the coolant and removing the hoses, but I like to take a little extra time to remove sh*t that could possible get into the way and cause me a headache

 

Honestly, all you really need to remove is the intake tube, the one 12mm nut off the starter sloenoid, and the one clip off the solenoid, the two 12mm that hold the starter in, and BAM. She's out.

No coolant, no mess. Though you may find it helpful to pull the harness back buy unclipping everyting on the pass side of the head and the reverse sensor on the front. Then just slide the harnessback out toward the back of the bay and you will have an easier time just fighting with the coolant hoses. I dont find the dizzy really gets in the way, but heck if you need to remove it, its only a few 12mm, a clip and some spark plug boots.

 

YOU ARE WRONG.....

you don't gotta drain nothing.....

disconnect neg battery

remove intake tube....

take 12mm nut off the positive side of starter

pull the neg clip
short extension with a 14mm get the top starter bolt off
long extension with 14mm get bottom start bolt off

unclip the wire harness

pull out (hahahah)

swap over wireharness brackets to new starter

repeat process in reverse to reinstall
