b18b1 all motor build suggestion?
I picked up a b18b1 with 136k miles, was planning on doing a high compression N/A build,
was thinking about dropping some crower stage 2 cams in there as well as 81mm Nippon racing 11.57:1 pistons, and apr rod bolts,
from there i'm not sure what else i should do to get some extra power out of the block or head? any suggestions?

porting the head will obviously help. maybe a thinner HG or milling the head to up your compression a little. the hytech rep also seems to be a popular for all motor builds along with a TB and decent flowing Intake manifold
got some stage 3 crower cams and cam gears for sale for cheap. Gave it a good bit of power, just went boost. I would suggest them over stage 2's if your wanting to make power with an ls
i'm trying to make 180+ whp , was thinking about going with 84mm bore, and ycp pistons with npr rings,, and how much for the stage 3?
I had high compression CP pistons (11.5:1), H-beam rods, knife edged crank, ported/polished head, crower valve/springs, crower stage 3 cams, adjustable cam gears, intake manifold, throttle body, etc..... I had an Apexi SAFC and got it professionally tuned..... results were little disappointing considering how much I spent.
I later went with an B18C VTEC head for LSVTEC setup and made 189.2WHP with port/polished head and ITR cams, crower valvetrains, Edelbrock manifold.
It depends on how much budget you have to spend on your engine build. I love N/A setup better than turbo. it's more fun to drive and less things to worry about. Good luck with your build man.
