Axle will not clip into transmission... Literally tried almost everything.
My axle will not clip into the transmission. It will go all the way in but comes out as easily as it goes in, I have made the clip on the end smaller, i have made it wider, I have gotten new clips put on it, I have faced the opening of the clip downwards, upwards, I have used plenty of force to try to get the clip to engage, I've replaced the axle seal, I feel like I have tried everything known to man, nothing works please help, and the axle and all of the splines are in good shape.
Look inside the differential and see if the area where the circlip opens is okay. The circlip should compress when going through the splined section and pop open locking the axle in place when it reaches the larger opening at the bottom.
If you are installing a new axle, also check the length of the splined section as compated to your original axle. You may have the wrong part.

The thing is, is that I have used the axle and transmission together before, then simply just swapped it into a different car with the same tranny and axle.
