As the title says, what is the curb weight of a stock ITR and facts to back it up?? Oh yea with power steering and with a/c

 

stock 01 itr w/ spare and 1/2 tank of gas and a plethora of cd's.... 2560. i am (well, just quit my job a few months ago, but still have the certification) a NY state certified weighmaster. the car in questioin was 1greyteg's itr.

 

Dang that's a good bit under posted numbers isn't it? Guess it depends if they measure it wet or dry. How much does gas weigh per gallon?

 

Gas weighs not that much per gallon. I believe 6-7 lbs? I remember the curb weight of a bone stock itr with full gas and no people in it was a little over 2600.

 

that adds up when you have 11 gallons in the car.

no there's gas stations everywhere here. i once drove for 10 miles w/ the gas light on , intense driving right there

 

Eh...you should have anywhere from 1-2 gallons when your light goes on.

 

it's still scary once you go for a while w/ the light on...

well i dont thnk mine is that accurate. it comes on for a few seconds, then goes away, then comes back and goes away. then after a few more miles it stays on...is this because teh gas is moving around in the tank?

You are correct. There is a sensor inside the gas tank and your gas just sloshes around.

That's the weight alright. And that's the correct assessment of what was in it at the time. The Spare and jack is 28 Lbs, just weighed that recently as well.

Don't sneeze at gas weight though. 1 gallon is 8.8lbs so a full tank is no feather, just do the math, just 10 gallons equals 80 lbs. AND that weight Shifts as you drive aggressively although at a reasonably low center of gravity.
