Hey Honda tech. Recently i was thinking of picking up a 07 auto civic for the family, but i was wondering if it was possible to fit the FD2 type R front end on the civic ex or lx version and not the si. Im pretty sure it should be the same, but i just wanted to be sure that it could fit. any help would be appreciated.

That's and nice front end with a nice price tag to go with it. Why do you wanna do that? Its your car and all do what you want, but it's not even an si? Unless you have later plans for more power or a swap?

As far as the itr I believe the jdm front end does look better, it's like a newer da and that's what I like. But I actually prefer our front end over the Japanese front.

 

hahah yeah i know what you mean. i originally wanted the SI but the wife needs to drive it sometimes too. i just really really love the Type R front end on the FD2. Hopefully it is bolt on though

It is pretty much all bolt-on if you have all the necessary parts. However, you may have to do some wiring yourself to accommodate the different lighting setup. Also, the USDM crash bar behind the bumper cover needs to be either cut or removed to fit the FD2 bumper.

 

It's not hard to do, as others have said. It's basically bolt-on plus custom wiring.

I'm afraid I have to agree with the posters who've said they feel it is a rather grand waste of money, however.

You should try to convince your wife that she can learn how to drive a manual transmission car. My girlfriend was completely against us getting a manual car but i finally convinced her as long as I taught her as soon as possible. What do ya know, she learned and she is actually starting to like it more than driving an automatic. Don't give up so easy!

 

If the OP goes through with his plans I'm interested in seeing how it turns out.

 

SI is good enough for me....not be a theft magnet

I think the 2006 are same.I would like to suggest you that you try to convince your wife to go for the manual car.Its just about practice and nothing else.Once she'll be able to drive the manual car,she'll love it that way.

Dear god , buy the SI and save up for later for whatever your planning to do. Youll never be happy with the R18 motor and everything else along with it....interior , color , tranny....etc. If your looking to do a jdm swap...
