Let me get my crystal ball out, I see a head swap in your future, I see 40 HP per cylinder in your future. Sorry, getting tired, been up 24 hours. Exhaust system is a decent piece of help, every little thing you are talking about is little, but 10 littles adds up to a little more. The stuff you have mentioned is part of a tune up, lets think a little bigger now.

Or bisimoto... or a few other tuners who have managed to get nice numbers out of the Accord motors.

Though I would say GhostAccord will be making good power from his F more stylishly... haha!

Well then you may want to search and read up on some things before trying to make real N/A power. It's not that complicated, but something that would be worth your time for any future projects and you could always teach others after you've figured it out.

Simply put: You don't need to tune for bolt-ons with these older Honda motors because frankly, they don't affect how the engine performs enough to warrant it (obviously this is different for newer engines like the K series which respond much better to simple mods. You can research that if your curious as well). The factory ECU can compensate and adapt to the bolt-ons and still work normally (and technically better).

Now when you start modifying things like cam(s), valvetrain, and compression you need to tune in order to optimize their operation together. The factory ECU has not been programmed (or tuned) to adapt to different cam durations or compression ratios because those are affecting how the engine operates at it's core. The engine may run, but not very well because the stock ECU doesn't know exactly what to do with the new readings it is getting.

Again, that's a simple explanation. Read up and enjoy your new-found knowledge. Good luck!
