D16Z6(Si) head on a D15Z1(Vx) block
i was wondering if a D16Z6 head would bolt onto my D15Z1 block, and if so would it even be worth it? Or would it be better off to just buy the woul D16Z6 motor?
well i just did this exact swap last week. It went well but takes some time. You'll need to change the ECU, the IM, TB and intake also if you want, i went with a cai.
You'll also need to rewire your o2 sensor for 4wire when you goto a p28 ecu and reroute a cable under the intake manifold. I can give more info. I do like how mine is running now, although i also had the head cleaned and added a zex cam to it.
And its running well, i just finished an 800 mile trip dragging a darn uhaul trailer. I know a hitch on a 92 vx, ugh it was long trip but it pulled through, dont think i would have made it with the vx stock.
Also, i had alot of fun making this happen, but it might just be better to swap a z6 in, unless you can find the parts cheap like i managed.
