Yes but you will have to install the oil control jet in between cylinder #2 and #3 that is found on the B7 blocks.

Also you will need a B7 ECU, IM etc.

From the 88-91 FAQ

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/how-d16z6-block-d16a6-head-2754616/

Not all those steps will apply but it'll get you where you need to be.

Why does this write up not work?

It actually does if you're able to think it through backwards which is what I did a few years ago. It's a backwards/reverse mini-me I guess...

I see. I saw plenty of those write-ups as well. i guess I don't understand the downgrading unless it's for budget.

one correction, you don't need the the z6 intake manifold. all of the b7 accessory parts work on the z6, and vice versa. however, you will need a b7 distributor. the z6 distributor is the oddball of the d series family and has different mounting tabs.

This one has pics. Rumor has it that the A6 and B7 heads are the same.

You can get away with any of the intakes for the D series but they are designed for each head so for efficiency it's usually best to keep the matching IM to the head, B7 IM B7 Head etc....

I don't see the Z6 IM improving the B7 head without tuning but I definitely could be mistaken.

They are, the difference is in the springs and camshaft. The size specs between the B1, B2, B7 and A6 are all identical on the head itself.

Do you know what the difference is between the cams? I assumed the a6 is more aggressive but I could be wrong, I honestly have no clue I haven't ever seen them measured just that alot of people seem to like the a6 better.

and the z6 intake manifold doesn't even fit well, the head really should be ported to match. The improvement isn't great until its tuned and the cam is upgraded to take better advantage of the more airflow, thats what IV seen on d15beast7 builds. But it isn't really so much like the v6 forum I was on where people would dyno tune literally every single different little bolt on or mod they would do, in a group attempt to figure out how to push the most power out of the j series.

The cams have been measured though it would take a bit of searching to find the results. I believe "Tyson" or "jlicrx" maybe even "Mista Bone" (I forget, it was ages ago) may have been behind that effort several years ago, maybe a decade or more.
