Default Help me identify my engine mount/bracket!

I bought this 1991 EF Si shell to drop my D16Z6 into and only realized this bracket mount is not where it should normally be. Can anyone figure out what kind of engine this is for? It says IM on it but not sure what that relates to.

Not gunna work. You're trying to put a hydro tranny into an EF? Which means you will need the wonderful Hasport conversion mount and a stock or stock like EF mount, as well as the mount for the rear. Any questions, just ask. I went though this swap last year.

Actually, forget what I just said, that would be an Innovate H22 mount that is in your car. Good luck.

Yeah, IM stands for Innovative Mounts.

It looks like it's been welded in there. If so, good luck getting it out.

Yeah I'm gonna have a fun time yanking that mount out. I had a feeling it was innovate. So this little EF had an H22 in it before and from the looks of it the front support was cut to fit a massive intercooler. I was gonna get a cable to hydro actuator. Thanks for the help.

Well once you get the mount straightened out, lemme know if you need a hand. I see you're in elgin, i'm in Alsip. I can help you with getting the hydraulics up and running for the conversion, as well as the shifter linkage.

Yeah, good luck breaking that weld without destroying the chassis right there. And good luck getting the stock mount welded back in the exact spot it needs to be in so your motor mounts will work.

It is part of the Innovative H22 mount kit as stated earlier. You can see it in this pic http://www.hamotorsports.com/29150mounts.html.

You can buy another 'stock' mount bracket through your dealer to weld in place. Just use a cut off saw and cut the welds off that innovative bracket, grind it smooth with a grinder, and weld the new one in place. The honda chilton manual has the measurements in the body repair section of where the mount is to be positioned in reference to other points on the body. Best of luck!
