i don't know what the noise is but i have changed the belts and I was wondering if it could be the pulleys or what else it could be. It's very bothersome to drive with and I just want to fix it as fast as possible.

 

Does it make the sound when:

-Idle
-Different Speeds
-Different RPMs
-Forward
-Reverse
-Turning Left
-Turning Right
-ETC

sorry about that it is a 98 honda civic hx with a d16y5
the squeaking noise will happen all the time when idling and driving normal but when i put it in high rpm the sound will go away.

 

sound like a loose or glazed or wet soaked belt check alternator a/c power sterin belt

 

all the belts are fine but i'm thinking it could be the pulleys themselves because the sound is louder at idle and at low rpm but at high rpm the car sounds a lot better. I'm really confused and i'm just trying to help my brother out by getting him a better sounding car . Or is it time to just scrap the piece of crap and just get a new engine.

Start by remove each drive belt one at a time to see which one is causing the squeaking.
