Default 1997 hx manual trans.

I need to replace the main shaft bearings in my '97 HX manual trans. The fix is an expensive one, mostly labor cost. My question is is it better to rebuild my trans. or replace it with a used or rebuilt one?

I would replace it with a used Y7 trans because they are very common and have tall gears.
That is, unless you can find a used Y5 trans.
