Like the title says; when I brake my steering wheel shakes. What could be the issue?

 

at what speed are you braking?
most likely its your rotors that are warped. same problem happen to me when i'm slowing down from like 70mph on the freeway, anything on the streets slower than 35mph i didn't feel any vibration.
i would just change out the rotors and pads for new one.

i have also heard that the front cross member rod bushing can be the problem as well.

 

it happens at really any speed. but at faster speeds, the shaking is a little worse then at slower speeds where its more of a vibration

 

More than likely it is warped rotors, take a close look at all steering components too, tie rods, tie rod ends, ball joints, steering rack mounts. If you change out the rotors, make sure you torque the wheels on properly with a torque wrench. It is believed that most warpage is caused by improper wheel installation. Its worth the extra couple of minutes of your time and patience. I am leaning towards also suggesting that you only get OEM parts.

 

I had the same problem. Changed the rotors and pads. All is well again.

 

Yep, as said above plenty of times......warped rotors.

 

Yep, i had the same problem, your rotors are warped and i replaced them and wallla no shaking

 

Well when I had my shaky problems it was due to my tires being bald. Haha, but it was only really shaking around 50~55mph+
