gas milage .. why so bad?
it seems I am only gettin 20 mpg in my car nowadays .. whats going on here?
just filled up my tank last week, reset the miles calculator and got 212 miles on it (21.2 mpg)
does anyone know any possibilities why it could be so low? since i should be gettin "30/34 mpg"
being jobless, barely affording gas - this is killing me, help please! (i dont floor it either, no racing)

how many gallons do you put in at the pump? Thats about what i get(210 on 8 gallons) about 26mpg... i'm gonna replace my O2 sensor tomorrow and i hope that will boost it up a bit.
I put 10 gallons at the pump .. i mean really though, for having nothing done to the car i should be expecting at / around 30 mpg... u guys are talking an engine that has way more power than the stock 90 hp DX engine and getting better gas milage
on a difficulty 1 to 10, how hard is the o2 sensor to do? and how much does this cost?

see this makes no sense at all.... why is ur tanks only 8 gallons and mine is 10? I should be around 300 miles to the tank!
the mechanics said there are too many problems that can happen, they did bring up the compression, but i seriously doubt it.. the engine still is in great shape

BTW, I own a 88 CRX DX, all stock.
I just replaced my O2 sensor... It cost me about 29.99 at pep boys. I reset the ECU and everything, and the car feels alot smoother. I'll let my tripometer tell me how it is.
Resetting Ecu
1. Start car and get it to operating temp, ie. just below half on the guage.
2. Turn off car
3. Disconnect negative battery terminal and leave it off for 10-15 min
4. Reconnect negative terminal
5. start vehicle and allow to idle with no accesories on, do not hit the gas, just let it idle for 5 minutes
6. Your done

i just called discount auto parts, they said $50 for the o2 sensor ...
and should i try to reset the ecu ? if that's maybe the problem
shorty, what do u mean? i know how many miles im getting - and it's horrible, a small car like mine and a 90 hp engine should be getting very good... it's specs are 30 city / 34 highway when ur 10mpg less than what it should be - u realize something is wrong, and this might be an overestimate ... it's worse when im lower in gas

no do not spray wd40 on it if you do to get the old one off make sure that the header is free of any chemicals such as wd40 since this can ruin the new o2 sensor make sure also to use anti-sieze compound when installing the new one. Believe me I ruined a sensor by spraying it with wd40 before putting it on.
