H22 Crank in F23 Block
Hi im thinking about putting a h22 crank in a f23 block. i know that the f23 has 55mm mains and that there is a h22 crank with 55mm mains. i was wondering if they would fit.
My idea was as such
F23 block
H22 crank and rods
k20a2 pistons
f2b with gsr tranny with itr fd and ls 5th
can this be done??? if so how much will i have to have milled off the block and what crank fits. only reason i want to do this is for revs kinda like making a h22 with iron sleves.

yes k pistons are 86mm with a 4.25 dome and a 30mm comp height. im thinking to get a f23 block and have it milled .038 with a 2 layer hg so the comp is 10.95:1 according to zealautowerks
other idea is a f23 crank and rods but i need some kind of rod bolts??? i have read k20a3 work but i want a comfermation on it also wondering what i could rev it to

While this is true and i'm not disagreeing, the k20 pistons have proven themselves, and combined with the iron walls would make a very sturdy motor. I guess what I'm saying is that with the problem of the weak H22 pistons out of the way (since hes using K20 pistons) the next weak link would be the FRM walls. Even though they're not weak at all. If I was doing the same build, i'd go with boost but then again i like built stuff more.
I know about boost, my weekend car is a darton sleeved b16 hx35 crx. This is my daily so im just looking for a little bit more fun. This is actualy going into a 00 gsr so i can build the bottom end for my crx i want a 2.0 not my 1.7. its only temperaory as im planning on a f20c rwd conversion but i want my rex perfect first and the h/f is appeling to me for the displacement factor
Yes, k20a3 rod bolts are the same as f23 rod bolts, which means you're pretty much stuck with the stock rod bolts currently (ARP will have something out within the next year). PM sent in case you decide to go that route, however.
I fully agree with lobesex, unless you're wanting to rev to like 18K, just get your F crank balanced, along with everything else and enjoy the longer stroke.
The H crank is also heavier due to larger counterweights. But I would never lessen the stroke on a small bore motor.
