Difficulty Shifting? + Brakes?
[1] I've got a 91 Accord, and lately (more and more) I've been having trouble shifting into first. It seems like the shifter goes halfway into gear, but then refuses to go the rest of the way. Usually if I just take it out and let off the clutch and try again, it works. Sometimes, it takes me three (even four) tries to get it in gear. I'm not sure if this is a clutch problem since I'm not experiencing any slipping at all. Then again, I'm not even sure when the clutch was last changed. Is there something that can be adjusted to fix this? I haven't got trouble with any of my other gears..is it just some part of the tranny getting old?
[2] The next question I have is about my brake rotors. My dad got tired of waiting for me to change the brake pads so he took the car into a shop to get it done. Well, the morons at the 76 didn't know what they were doing and replaced the wrong pads, and also didn't do a good job - resulting in warped rotors. When we took the car back to them to have it fixed, they supposedly fixed it but the car shakes pretty badly when I brake now (I suspect they didn't really replace the rotors like they said they did). So I'm looking for some slotted rotors for the Accord. Can any of you recommend a good company that makes after-market rotors for the car?
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like your clutch slave cylinder is going bad (pretty common with Hondas). That same thing happened to my moms 5th gen Accord as well (not shifting into gear without pumping it a few times), and it was the slave cylinder. Not sure how easy it is to replace, but the total for hers to have it replaced was $127 if I remember correctly.
As for brake rotors--I had replaced mine with some I got from Advance Auto Parts and they warped within about 2 months. I was getting VERY violent shaking (I'm not exaggerating!). I replaced those with some Brembo's (solid, not slotted or drilled) from www.nobleforeign.com and they've been on for a couple months and are still perfectly smooth. So I guess they're pretty good. I believe Power Stop makes pretty good rotors as well.
Hope that helps some

if it is the slave cylinder, its pretty easy to replace. i just helped a friend replace his on a civic. Once you have the new item youre going to put it, it all becomes very clear on how to get the old one out.
