The best car wax?
I am looking to get some wax for my car, but I'm not really sure what's the best to get. In the past, I just used turtle wax, but there was no real rationale other than it seems to have a good reputation. But I'm not a car enthusiast per say.
Anyways, I googled the topic but most of what I came across is crap, and it's people just trying to sell/get you to click their ads. I'd really like some unbiased information. I got some really good advice recently on this forum so I thought I'd try this too.
Thank you.

for the money the best is Poorboys World. Don't buy wal mart/parts store wax. Its **** plain and simple. take a look at www.autogeek.net for the best selection of car care stuff
The meguiars professional series are pretty good, theres the wax, polish, and sealer or whatever. I find it to be one of the best.

but in general you pretty much get what you pay for. Cheaper wax is still good it just doesn't always last as long.

IMO Meguiars waxes are always a PITA to remove completely. They seem to "smear" more so than wiping off cleanly.
I prefer 3M waxes. Usually the dark grey bottles - can't recall the actual formula, but it comes off cleanly without the smearing crap like most other waxes I've tried.
Seems to work pretty well seeing as how my C/F hood is about 6/7 years old, and my paint is 8 years old:

I touch up/wipe off dusty crap with Eagle One Nanowax. I'd never substitute it for real wax, but it's amazing stuff for in between wash touch ups. Works on plastic, glass, bumper trims, dashboards, and of course paint.

For the money I like Meguiars's NXT, under $15 at Wal Mart, sets up nice and lasts a while. If you've been using Turtle for a while I'd give it a good wash and clay bar (also under $15 at Wally World) before waxing. That's just what I like, is it the ultimate wax? No but it's nice stuff for the price range, easy to work with and you can buy it just about about anywhere. I haven't experienced the smearing problems B18C5-EH2 has, but I have with Zymol, as long as I apply it in the shade on a day with relatively low humidity and let it dry completely the NXT has always been good to me. It does however tend to leave a lot of fine white dust behind that I wipe down with Meguiars's Quick Detailer which is just spray on and wipe off.
i use alotta differnt products but so far menzerna polishes gets my vote look into that or maybe some adams products the off the shelf waxes such as nxt gold class 3m and mothers carnuba are great i dont really care for zymol...
I live in north county San diego. There is this detail shop a town up the freeway in riverside. I cant remember what its called but they have products called CAR GLOW. its honestly my favorite chemicals for everything. they are the ****. my dad has been using theses products for 10 years at his shop and thats where i heard about it. If ur around North county SD or Temecula Its right before old town. Right next to hydroponics 4 less and that other hydro store. check them out
I like using NXT but I find that it doesn't last very long. For the winter when I don't get a chance to wash/wax the car much, I put on a layer of Collinite 476S wax during late fall and it still beads in the spring.
