Default what is required to do a tranny swap

i currently drive a 92 Prelude auto, and i wanna convert it to a manual. What are some things that are required to make this a successful conversion along with prices of each item (roughly) Also if possible, can you guys tell me what i have to do? I dont want it in detail just make it vague , unless you'd like to give me an in detail way.

1992 Honda Prelude Type S

You need an extra transmission and the SEARCH button.

Also, it's just a 1992 Prelude S (not Type S).

Timmizzle search under my name to find plenty of info on the 4th gen auto to manual conversion. This WIll require Welding a manual transmission mount in place of the automatic mount. If your not capable of that, then dont attempt it.

Not entirely true. You can drill out the existing mount a little and it will work. Its not perfectly aligned but it fits. Don't say its not true because I daily drive a converted 96 lude.

It could be done that way but why not do the job right the 1st time. The automatic through hole could we welded closed and then a new hole could be drilled in the correct spot.

I wouldn't want to chance driving around with that hole slotted, but to each his own /\.

My friends 94 is converted manual and he did not go the weld method...I can't say I agree but it does work for him so it can work for you also if you are not able to weld.

you can drill the new hole. it is about an inch higher up and slightly more to the passenger side of the mount if i remember correctly.

ha, definatly lol! but on a more serious note.. SEARCH, there are literally hand fulls of writeups walkthrus and step by steps on the web telling you everything you will need and how to do it.. and this wonderful site we all call home probably houses a mass of trans swap write ups alone.. anyways, good luck.. and don't come back without a 5spd lol

KRONN,

You are a total smart ***....pretty funny but some people are trying to use this site for basic knowledge on fixing or modifying their car and I'm sure don't appreciate your constant useless comments, used to mask your lack of answers for the original question.

Timizzle,
If you are really going to attempt this switch I will trade you a 92 lude 5speed ecu for your auto tranny , if its in good working cond. of course.

Since you don't grasp the concept, I'll start at the beginning.

First, you are in no position to ever critique anything you BELIEVE about me. You'll most definitely be wrong in every case, and you're not up to my level. So just shut up.

Second, the people looking for basic information need to do just that. They need to LOOK for it. We're not here to answer the same basic crap day in and day out. There's a Search button for a reason.

Third, you're so insignificant that I really have no idea why I just wasted any time on you.

yay! my two cents now .... hop on google... do some research... everything your gonna need will be in many many lists on many many writeups that pertain to your swap.. and I may not be a veteran on this forum but I have been in the honda scene for a loooong time. and it is irritating when a true noob doesn't grasp the research concept.. C'mon people, how do you think the honda modding pioneers did this crap before this site..?? we all did our research.. go go googlepower!!!!

Or you can buy the motor mount that makes up fop the different between the auto to manual hole positions. - explicitspeedperformance dot net.
