if you have to wait for birthday money to do a swap. dont do it. wait a couple birthdays and then do it right.
rough estimate for a complete swap:
motor ~$500 (depends on where you find it, shipping will be extra of course)
transmission ~$2-400 depending on which cable transmission you want
transmission ~$2-500 depending on which hydro transmission you want
motor mounts $2-350 depending on which brand you get for cable transmission
motor mounts $2-400 depending on brand and if they are for hydro transmission
shift linkage ~$100
ecu ~$50 (correct one would be a PR4 obd0 LS ECU)
distributor ~ $50 (also for an LS)
Wiring (if your buying from rywire i think its $300 to convert your DX harness to MPFI)
swap axles
i think that about covers it. unless you are going to go ahead and replace the following:
timing belt ~$20
water pump ~$45
timing belt tensioner ~ $50
thermostat ~$10
head gasket ~ $45
alternator belt ~$10
valve cover gasket ~$25
new plugs ~$10-$40 (depends on which ones you go with. reg ngk or iridium)
new wires ~$20-50 (cheap aftermarket or NGK)
new clutch ~$100-$300 (also depends on brand)
flywheel ~$25-$150 (resurface old one or buy new one
again these are estimate prices

You cant really have an estimate. Due to the fact that some **** might pop up out of no where.
Random stuff like, Vtec conversion kit, Appropriate head gasket, a good cleaning of the bay.
What im saying is, if you want to get this swap done right the first time. you might as well replace all of the hoses, gaskets, and seals. Just don't expect to pay an amount and then sadly find out more money is needed.
Im sure others here have learned that the hard way, I know i did.
