how much does the k20a swap usually cost when swapping it into a 96 ek. And does anyone know where i can do it

Depends on how you're gonna go about doing it. You gonna try and install it yourself or have a shop do it? I can cost anywhere from $5,000 all the way up to $10,000. Do some searching, this has been talked about many times.

k20a2 ? cuh it could be a bitch load unless u find some ppl that r gettting rid of their motors basiclly heres a quick overview:

500 for engine
800 for transmisson
600 for hasport motor mounts
300 for axels
bitch load for ecu if u wanna go k-pro idk about stock maybe a few hundred
lotta time and effort but it is worth it in the end so go for it man

is more simple and you get great power
the k20a is a pain.
everything is reversed
exhaust manifold and more ****
i would go for a b20 cr vtec in my opinion

wow. so where can i find a k20a for $500. point me the way. at that price, i guess i wouldn't mind paying more for motor mounts, than the motor itself

haha.. 500 for a k20a2.. suure. and hes going to need a bit more than engine tranny mounts and axles..

LS Vtec is simpler? Yeah right. That is a pain in the *** in and of it self. (If you do it right) Besides how long will the engine last? Not nearly as long as a k20.

Hell, hasport mounts for my stock y8 cost almost $600 for all 3. You're prices are WAY off buddy.

Why don't you shut the hell up and stop spreading false information. If you can find a killer deal like Litterbox did, you can knock maybe $1500 off the $8000 sticker, but don't expect to have a good-running, no-codes swap for under $6500 in "realistic land."

a buddy of mine just raced a k20 in a ek civic ,and my buddy won,ls vtec is all it takes and go shopping to honda dealership parts dep.Thats all u need to beat a k20/

Yeah, that's ALL you need. You don't need to know how to feather a clutch so you can put the power to the floor. You don't need to know how to shift the car right to go as fast as possible. All you need is an engine and a car that it goes in.

well you know what i mean,2 good drivers ,ls vtec versus k20 .dont get me wrong,k20 is fast but my buddies can is faster. thereis faster k20 out there.

yes k20s are cheap. its cheaper if u get it now than in the future. go to k-series.com there's a guy on there that will sell for a good deal shipped.. i forgot his name but yeah, u can get like a k24 crv longblock for like 1200 shipped or something. and oh yeah, i rather get a b20vtec than a k20.. but i'd pick a k24 over anything.
