1993 Del sol S D15B7 tranny/axle problem

1993 Del sol S D15B7 tranny/axle problem
I was replacing my clutch last night and all was going well until i went to put in my driver side axle shaft. It went most of the way in but it would just not seat all the way. No matter what i do it still will not go in. I took it out and removed the C- Clip and it still will not go in. HELP!!!!
