Default Does anyone think a Honda CRX will soon become a classic?

I have a Honda CRX SI 1990 207,000kms that I am planning on selling for a done up Honda Integra 1996. My sisters partner wants me to keep it and do it up because he thinks it wont be long until that model becomes a classic. Any opinions? Thanks

if you think that crx built will be worth more then that teg built your wrong. crxs are cool but newer hondas are worth more in general because they usually have a larger market.

Technically speaking up to 90 models are classics. A 20 year old vehicle that meets the regulations of limited mileage driving, fairly straight body and working exhaust etc. I had to submit pictures of exhaust, front, rear, and both sides and am waiting the usual 6 weeks for it to be processed and get my classic tags to avoid future inspections.

So yes, if it is 20 years old it's a classic. Will they be a car that is ever desired by the general public such as a camaro or muskrat? Hell no!

im mixed on this. some dude 20 - 30 years from now is ganna have a mid life crisis and is ganna want that CRX he loved back in the 90's. the one he thought would never be worth anything and hes ganna shell out some dough.

every muscle car head ive met talks about that chevelle/impalla/camero/mustang etc. they bought for $3,000 fresh from the dealer and sold it for even less because they never thought it would be worth anything. Then regret selling it becuase its worth mad money now. Ive heard that exact thing from my boss about his 60 something chevelle and my moms boyfriend and his ss chevelle.

i think they will be collectable for sure, there was a mint 91 si that sold on ebay for 14000 last year, i think si models will bring some good money in the future, back in the 60-70's with ss model chevys no one thought they would be worth anything now look, not sure a honda will bring that kinda money, but sure it will be worth something

I dont understand the praise of the CRX, i mean seriously....it wasnt innovative in any way.

Is a same year Corolla or 240 a classic?

Actually you are wrong, the CRX in particular was quite innovative for it's time.

The CRX chassis is in the top ten of all production cars when it comes to low drag coefficient, beat only by its self (the honda insight). Another innovation all EFs had was affordable front double wishbone suspension and it was cutting edge technology back then and makes the car handle very well even when compared to modern mcpherson strut setups (used only because it is cheaper). The B16 was at that time, probably one of the highest output per liter of any factory N/A engine. Combine this with an 1800lb car and it will always be fun to drive.

Then there is the CRX Hf which beats many modern hybrid cars in mpg AND performance. Recently a guy with an 88 hf beat every car in a hyper mileage competition, even the new diesel turbos and hybrids. 20yr old technology smacking up modern technology qualifies as innovative and classic in my book.

First of all, double wishbone wasnt technically cutting edge, as it has been around prior to the 80s, when hondas used it. Honda decidied to use it because it was considered to have better handling capability than the MacPherson.

Secondly, the b16 was out of an siR1, which wasnt available in the united states. So to realistically compare the motor, you'de have to do the d15b2, and d16a6, which was completely blown away by the Mazda rx-7.
