car died on the way home.....
I just finished up a d16z6 swap in my 91 honda crx si.. took me forever to find out why the car was not reving past 3500 rpms which came to be the ecu i bought from ennohohbee from here was sh**. So i put a ecu i had laying around which was a p13 not the correct ecu but it worked just reved alittle at idle... so i ran it all weekend on the was home last night the battery light came on and the car completely died... my friend brought jumper cables and still wouldnt start... i put the p28 back into it just to see if it would start and still nothing seems like no spark? would the p13 ecu cause the distributor to fail? i dont know were to start with this..

well when the car won't rev over 3-3500 rpm its usually the crank position sensor going out on the distributor. so i try a different distributor
well the 3500 rpm isnt the problem now... the 3500 was before i put the p13 ecu in it... the p13 ecu ran fine till i was going home last night and car shut off and battery light came on... but jump start wont start it so its not the alternator... so im thinking distributor..? no?
imma check the local parts place and see what i can get for the distributor
and see if that fixes it... would that make the battery light come on, on the dash?

Double check if your timing belt didn't snap... I went to go help my friends Civic that die while driving and I took a working distributor but it still had no spark.... Pop open the valve cover and I see no belt...
It's not the alternator see bold in quote. Yes, make sure the timing belt is turning. I took off my cover a long time ago and never run w/o it so it's always quick to see.
Open your dizzy cover and make sure the rotor screw did not fall off. Easy check - you dont even have to remove the dizzy. Pull the plug wires off and remove the 3 - 8mm bolts.
How are you checking for spark?
buying a distributor tonight.. timing belt does turn i also dont have cover on mine. and the rotor and cap look fine... have power going to distributor and no spark when i pluged in the fake spark plug to see if there is spark... so its gotta be distributor
I'd check the ignitor or ignition control module 1st
Ignitor should measure 18-25 Kilo Ohms depending on what type you have
ICM is more involved and I dont have access to manuals at this time
Both are in the distributor but could save you some $$$
