Oil was dripping from the bottom so I had the oil pan gasket changed for $250. When that didn't stop the dripping, I was told the rear main seal (between trans. & motor) was problem so they did that for $500.

Now there is no oil dripping from the bottom, but that nauseating smell is still there. I have to keep the windows open all the time and if I stay in there too long, I will get light headache. If anybody has had this problem before, any idea where it could be from?

No, I'm sure it's not exhaust leak. It smells kind of like burnt grease or oil (not sure which) but it's very sickening and unbearable. I purchased a CO detector to make sure it was not exhaust leak. Before I took it in for repair the smell was so bad, you couldn't sit 10 minutes in the car before getting light-headed. And my sweater soaked up the smell and it stayed in there until I washed it.

HOW IT STARTED:
One day I was driving at low speed (~15mph) and when I tried to stop, the car wouldn't slow down. The engine was idling at almost 2.5k rpm!!! I had to turn off the engine at the stop light to make it stop. After driving about a block, it went back to normal but then the entire bottom of my wind shield turned GREEEN!! and some smoke was coming up. That's how it started.
