So today I been working on switching out the passenger side axel. All went well until I got to the part where you remove the cv axel. I pulled out the axel and the whole thing came out except for the inner cv joint.



as in this picture it shows the inboard cv joint. That part is still left in the tranny, Im still trying to get it out. I ve tried everything to get that thing out. Any suggestions would help thanks

You're not supposed to pull it out. You need to pry it out. I have used crowbar and pried it out using the housing as a base.

If you pull, the joint comes apart....assuming this is what happened to you.

 

yeh the joint of the axel came out. things came too far apart. this happened to me the first time i pulled my b16 axel. I just put everything back together and bolted it back into the car the way it was. when you bolt things back into place it holds the axel together the way it should be.

i made a post with pics just like this, same problem. ppls said if it all went back together right and was bolted into the car, it would be fine. It has been fine since then. no need for a new axel.
