I have a slightly mod'd B16A (60mm mandrel exahaust, Intake, CTR cams/ITR springs, Adj Cam Gears). I still have the virgin P30 in it for now and Adj gears are at zero still (getting a socketed ECU and dyno/tune later this summer)

I decided to run an JDM 98+ ITR header and purchased a 2.5" Magnaflow Cat. I put the header on and as many of you know...the lower bracket does not fit the B16 motors. It has a bend in it (to go around the half shaft) so fab'ing it is a little out of my comfort zone. So I decided to investigate....came up with nothing except mis-info (B.S. that it fits B16 motors) or runing a flex pipe after the collector. So, I bought an expensive *** piece of stainless 2.5" Flex Tube dual layer ($60 flex section is about 3-4" long). The outside layer is stainless mesh and inner layer that has a coil running through it. Well I have this hissing sound when accelerating. I thought it was a leak but after taking it back to the muffler guy and finding no leaks....we found the sound comes from this stupid flex pipe.

Does anyone have an option for a bracket that isn't too hard to fab???
I can cut/weld just don't want to purchase the OEM bracket if I can't mod it to work.
Or a non hissing flex pipe option? Also heard cheap ones will swell up to a pee size I.D
