another "what should i swap?" thread
i know its a question thats been asked a million times before but im gonna ask again anyway.
i've got a 91 civc, as standard as could be.
i also now have a job which means much more money to work on it than before so i've been looking to just do an engine swap instead of rebuilding the d15b1.
i was told a zc would just be the easiest for power, and they look like fun with vtec.
i was looking at http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30022 but I heard they are hard to get parts for.
my main goal with this is mileage and reliability while still having enough power to rub my friends noses in it, though the power bit i can squeeze out with a mistu turbo and intercooler.
thanks for the help.

another "what should i swap?" thread deserves another generic somewhat assholeish answer
SEARCH!!!
there is no correct answer to this question. there are far too many swaps and variables to take into consideration when trying to give an answer to this question. Just about any OEM honda motor is reliable and get's decent gas mileage. That is what these motors were built for. It's only when people start modifying them (such as adding a turbo) and not building them correctly that they lose their reliability.
what's the best engine - the one that meets your particular needs
what's the cheapest engine - the one that's in your car
what's the most reliable engine - the one that is built and tuned properly
do some searching, find out how much you can afford, and then base your decision off of your findings.
also when considering power there are 3 things to consider of which you can only pick 2.
power
reliability
cost effectiveness
pick the 2 you want and be content with not having the third.

if you just did an a6 you could run your existing dpfi setup and you could go mpfi whenever to get the extra power. those motors arent much and you wouldnt have to swap trannys
if I was to recommend swaps, I would have to say the B16B, because B18's are too expensive and far to common, it has 185 NA HP, costs around $2200, and has an LSD, also it is 10 years newer than the b16a, and is easy to swap in, if not a b16b then I would say k20a, but I don't recommending turbo charging your car, they can only give you limited hp on a stock engine, and don't last very long, however you can get a D16A6 non vtec, get CP pistons, eagle rods, a camshaft and a big *** turbo and your good to go
where do you all get your motors and trannys from?
i am def looking for a swap in a y8, z6, or y7 but not really sure where to go.. and most motor shops dont carry those engines.
Thanks
