my little problem
hey guys, i got a 89 civic 4dr and the only problem mechanical wise is that when driving for a while in hot weather the car runs fine, no overheating nothing. but when i go lets say go to gas up or something that requires me to turn off my car for a few mins. the car does not want to start right away. i give the car like 5 mins and them it starts right up with no problems. i google and found that its common with the ef and some say replacing the master relay it fixes the problem but i have also read that it doesnt. can anyone relate and have a 100% fix for this problem? thanks.
i think it is that they get hot at times and the joints inside crack and stuff so it effects the main relays operation and it being hot just makes it worse so it takes time to cool down so it can start right up but once it gets hot it will do it again many say to just resolder the joints and it will fix the problem try that before you go buy a new one
x2 Classic main relay symptoms.
Be aware that when you remove the relay to solder the joints they will look ok. Solder them anyway. Its easier then you think and will only cost you time.
