Swap OBD0 dizzy sensors into OBD1 diz??
Got a kid killing my soul with this request, here's the current specs:
- OBD1 D16Z6
- OBD0 PM6 ECU
- OBD0 harness
- Some unknown OBD0 distributor zip-tied to the motor. It works, even though it's stuck at like 7*BTDC.
He got the OBD1 Z6 dizzy & jumper, but the OBD0 PM6 won't read the sensors.
So, can I crack open the OBD0 diz, pull the sensors & wiring, and put it straight into the new OBD1 distributor?

Actually I guess it is no.
I pulled it apart, the OBD0 sensor brackets do not match up to the OBD1 distributor housing so I had to pull the sensor coils from the old one and epoxy them onto the existing magnet rods.
And you can't use the OBD1 shaft because the RPM rotor is the wrong size and the OBD0 TDC rotor binds on the OBD1 housing.
So it does not, in this case.

Hah, it would if it was my car.
That was my first recommendation, and strangely enough is my new recommendation, again.
But people think cutting corners saves them money.
At this point I don't care, if he's willing to pay for it... I don't care
