So I'm doing a K20A2 swap and swapping my automatic tranny for a manual. I went to ask my usual mechanic how much he would charge for the work and he refused to do it. Talkin about everytime he's seen that kinda thing done it always has problems (referring to changing from auto to stick). Wth is that about, I didn't see why there would be any problems, is this dude just a crap mechanic or does this actually have sense to it. anyone here done the same swap?

A number of people have done the auto-to-manual swap, as well as the K-swap. Your mechanic probably just doesn't want to do it.
Now, how many people did both at the same time is another story.

haha, a lot of regular mechanics don't like doing that kinda stuff.

You'd have to go to a real performance mechanic.

no he was just a regular mechanic, im going to have to search around for a good performance shop in south florida, anyone live around here and know someone good? it should be fine though right, i dont see why the tranny or anything would have problems, especially since the manual tranny im getting is coming with the engine.
