LS Swapped 93 Coupe Losing Power up top
Hello, I recently purchased a 93 Civic that has a b18b1 Swap in it. I'm new to hondas. I bought it as a project to redo the interior and exterior has some dings, but no rust so I planned on doing most of the body work myself and my father is great with Painting Cars. I have ordered all my interior parts that I will be needing to match everything up, etc. I was under the impression that the engine and trans were in perfect working order.
I hadn't really got on the car to much other than just half throttle here and full throttle there. It seemed perfectly fine. I did a 2nd and 3rd gear pull today and right around 6200 RPM the car made some weird noises and seemed like it just fell on its *******. I shut it down immediately and didn't try it again. Just trying to get some possible explanations.
Symptoms: 6000 - 6200 Immediate loss of power.
When I listen to the car it seems like and feels like right around 6000 my power band has peaked and anything further is just un-necessary.
It does have a different cluster in it so I have went over that the Tach in it could be off when I get into it pretty good and not be able to keep up. Thats what I'm hoping the issue is.
I checked the ECU and it is a P75, but it does look pretty disgusting. Possibly has been damp at one point. Didn't know what else I should look into?
Plugs, Fuel Filter, Distributor? has anyone else had this problem. Just looking for a bit of advice.
Thanks,
Matt.

could be any number of things, like ^^^^ said I think it's a ecu issue, try the comp test and report back the details.
What I do when It could be any number of things is start with the cheapest things to fix nd work my way down the list.
good luck.

Honestly I don't know as I let out as soon as it happened, but to me by just the feel, it was done, no more picking up was going on. I'm leaning towards the ECU as well, going to order one from Hamotorsports. Thanks for the help. I will be doing a compression test shortly.
