Im sure this has been covered a jillion times and i searched for awhile but couldnt really find much. I just bought a black '99 Civic ex coupe yesterday and was thinking about ordering this lip and grill kit off ebay:

i realize the quality probably isnt the best but whats everyones experience on these? Will i instantly regret my decision to purchase these when they get to my doorstep or will it look clean? And im not spending hundreds on an OEM lip, theres got to be some decent replica's out there. So if this lip is **** will you guys guide me in the direction of a better replica lip and grill? Thanks

 

You get what you pay for...a oem lip and grill will probably run you around 300 and your basically paying 100 for it. So basically shitty fitment, fake parts etc etc i'll let you do the math...

I have an aftermaket 99-00 front end installed in my car.
I managed to install and aling everything well, EXCEPT the grill.
Its impossible i couldnt do it.
So i recomend not buying it.
Im Currently looking for a oem grill.

 

I returned one that someone tried to pass off as OEM and that thing wasnt even close.The bumpers are a bit easier to get away with since they can strech and form to the shape a bit but the grill is too small to do that.

he might be at work and not some 16 yr old home for summer vacay. Save another 100 bucks and buy the real front lip. But you might be the 16 yr old i stated above with no job. If thats the case...as your parents for early allowance.

The ebay si lips aren't even good copies, they changed the design up to look more "aggressive" which just makes them look like ****.

Just save up a bit more.

Also another thing to consider is that if your car is milano red, flamenco(sp?) black pearl, or electron blue pearl, you can get it already colormatched. Generally bodyshops charge 100-125 to paint a lip, so factor that in, OEM isn't much more expensive.

 

Can you buy OEM grills and lips new still or do i need to find one used somewhere? If they are still available new, are there any good online vendors or do i need to go to the Honda dealership?

 

You can still get the grill and shell new from majestichonda.com and the Si lip is available new probably on that site or others that deal in oem parts.

How about the optional rear lip for the 99-00? there is someone sellin a used one on a local forum for $500, which is ****ing retarded, but id honestly like to find an OEM one, new or used in good condition...

 

I bought a fake Si grille for my car and ended up returning it. It fit, but it was a 1 piece grille rather than the OEM 2 piece, and it was connected to the bumper with just 4 tabs; OEM grille uses 6 tabs and 4 screws or something like that.
