Default do we have anything like that for honda?(throttle body)

i was watching this vid on youtube guy tuning FIAT engine with ITBs and they have a slider valve instead of a butterfly valve like we got.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TakF5...eature=related

is there an advantage over butterfly valve with that type of valve?
and do we have any available for ours?

Advantage is that at WOT there is absolutely no restriction in the intake track. I have seen some experimental roller throttles and one slide plate throttle that were adapted for Honda engines. Other than that I haven't seen a production, Honda specific, non butterfly valve individual throttle setup. That one in the vid looks like a one off as well. I have seen a set up similar before; Guy Croft Racing Engines

i just realized this is ITBs
since the throttle body in honda is kinda far away from actual inlets would that type of valve even make a difference at WOT or any other throttle position as opposed to just bigger throtle body diameter?
wouldnt there still be turbulence because the air intake is perpendicular to the runners?

alot of pulling tractors using big turbos use the slide plate setup

not sure how you would setup the tps to work w/ this setup...

Only way I could think of would be to have the TPS set up horizontally. Using a small gear on the end of the shaft that would run off matching teeth on the side of the slide/throttle plate????

You can use a linear potentiometer as a TPS!

I have 2 projects for TBI's that are based on this.

One works as a camera shutter, keeping the "hole" on the TBI always round, it works on 3D but I think that there are too many moving parts to work in real life.

THe other one is like a fat half moon, with one shaft only.

I'll post some pics later on..

The Ford diesels don't have a tb plate or anything. It's based off the accelerator pedal and injectors well injectors mainly. But if u don't have any fuel u don't make power or tq. So the injectors act as a throttle body.
