Greddy SE Catback Exhaust Review
Well i finally purchased and installed my new exhaust.
The greddy se.
My overall impressions looking it over were that it was very well put together and the quality of the welds were superb. the install was fairly quick and all the hangers lined right up. most people are going to say the exhaust doesnt give you a lot of power, but in my case running the skunk2 header with a stock exhaust wasnt letting the full potential of the header out. with the addition of this exhaust its like wow. it really opened up and it pulls a lot better than it did before. currently, my ecu is still adjusting to it, but im sure once its done it will drive better, and my backfires, will mostly disappear.
First drive impression: under normal driving conditions it really sounded like i did had my stock exhaust on still. when i first went wot, wow it pulled a whole lot better right out the gate. and it doesnt really start to sound different until you hit around 4k. and it smokes like a b*tch too until you get some carbon buildup in it, which it was gone in about an hour of driving maybe.
Second driving impression: sounded normal like the first drive, but this time i really beat on the car to hear what the exhaust sounded like when it really gets warm. and it does have a nice deep, crisp tone to it. and vtec pops like a dream even with my stock intake. i sort of regret selling my injen sri, but im going turbo, so i decided to get of everything that wasnt necessary. (not selling the skunk2 header yet!)
but overall, this exhaust has everything i was looking for:
1.) doesnt look like a regular canister exhaust, looks sporty and expensive.
2.) the burnt tip is just wow hahaha i've gotten a few compliments on its looks in just 2 drives!
3.) the added performance it gave me was more than i had expected.
4.) it sounds stock when you drive under normal conditions.
so to end this review, i have a pic of it installed. excuse the quality, i used my phone (google mytouch)

and a sound clip. u can really hear the vtec right at 4 seconds.
current mods: stock intake, rrc intake manifold, skunk2 megapower header, greddy se exhaust, and hondata flashpro MAP calibration.

You said you were gonna go turbo right? So what kind are you gonna go with?
Your exhaust will sound different when you have a turbo manifold and turbo on it. Everyone here says how loud the skunk 70mm is, but mine is not that loud imo. My tuner said that the turbo really quites things down.
I like the burnt tip on your car especially.
I'd like to hear you rev it and record from behind

No cat and it's that quiet? Interesting. I asked because I've been looking at the SE also. I was kinda leaning towards the Evo-II but I'm afraid it might be way loud with a long tube header and no cat. I want a deep smooth rumble in the lower RPM's and a good sound in higher revs without sounding like a "rice pipe" if you know what I mean.

im not looking to have something crazy fast.
but im considering on buying this em1 with an itr swap i've been looking at for a couple weeks now. so the turbo might be on hold.
i can make you a vid of some revs from behind, but its not gonna be a high rev because my launch control is set to 2600 rpm.
