Hey all,

I am just wondering what headbolts I need for a D16a8 - part numbers if possible, I am told it is a similar engine to what you americans call a blacktop Dohc ZC?

I am in australia and no retailers can find a specific headbolt kit for this engine ... Even though it comes in the 5th gen civic si which is a fairly common model here.

All help is appreciated.

 

We never go that engine here, but the closest one to it we did get was a 1st gen Integra with a dohc obd0 D16A1 wich made 113 or 118hp depending on the year

I think the newer model you have is much like the jdm Si engine running higher compression with 130hp

 

My one is a dohc obd1, it is in a 93 EH9 si, it has 10 head bolts. Maybe if an australian user could help me out as it is a sort of common model of motor here?

 

bump? Another site tells me that it is the same as 4th gen dohc ZC, Can somebody please reccomend me head bolts that will fit?

 

why are zc head bolts such a problem screw this im calling arp giving them measurments and getting them made i'll post its part num soon

Thank you for your email regarding compatibility of internal engine parts.

For your information, the engines you listed were never built at our factory in Swindon but were actually built by Honda in Japan and were fitted to the Integra models. However, having now spoken to individuals here who specialise in engine components, they are able to confirm the following:

•The D16A8 engine is compatible with the D16A9 engine
•The ZC engine components are not compatible with the D16A range of engines.

I hope this information is of some assistance to you.
