Hey everyone, I'm new to HT and just bought a red EG hatch yesterday. got it for $1100. d15b vtec runs but like a gas guzzler. i guess i need to do a tuneup or swap. small leaks everywhere too. can anyone help?

also i noticed cracks in the stock header so i got my friends old ones to put on. i noticed that the ones on the car were 4-2-1 and my friends was 4-1. what's up with that? my friend's headers came off an ej1.

any help is greatly appreciated.

 

1100? im going to guess that there will be more problems left to find. but find those leaks and get em fixed. need more info bout the car to help you out.

 

your friend just has probably aftermarket headers? that run 4-1 for more powers in the upper rpms? ^^ need to see pics and more info on the car..

 

I'll try to take some pictures soon. there's leaks near the headers, so maybe valve cover or headgasket? would it be less of a hassle if i saved for a z6?

his headers look stock =/. since their both 2 piece, i was wondering if i can switch the top halves.

Most likely the headgasket is going from someone cracking to much vtec and prolly high miles. At least show your new baby off with some pictures of the car and of the problems.
