What happenes if you are missing one of the arp head stud washers and they are on
I was finishing up putting my head together today and I wanted to double check everything so I find a washer by the springs and retainers I am like where did this come from then I
remembered that it could be from the arp head studs so what would happen if I run the studs but one without the washer
or should I take out the cams and everything to see if I am missing one of the washers?

i would run to the hardware store and get one new "hardened" stainless steel washer of the same size and put it in...do not run it without the washer...you make damage the studs or the head.

Im not a pro but Id take the time and make sure you have the washer installed. Leaving it out, to me, might leave you with a weak point. Buuild it right now, do your not building it again later because of a little time and a washer.
Good luck with the build.

the head will come flying off and take the whole hood with it...and also the hood latch...but your pistons will still be mint
when i read your question i heard "If my 4 legged stool lost 1 leg can I still sit on it"?

What does the washer look like? The ARP stuff is generally black with a bevel cut on the inside. I don't really see the need to get a new washer from the parts store when you already found the washer you left out.
Take it all back apart and find out where that washer goes. This is not one of those areas where you should cut corners and half *** an installation.

Do not use a hardware store washer, it is not the same as the ARP. Take it back apart and find where it goes. The bevel on the washer points toward the head of the bolt. It is there to prevent the washer from cutting into the fillet on the underside of the bolt head.
but yeah I already found out where it goes built the motor and put the harness on and now its in the engine bay just need to go to the hardware store and get some halfshaft back mount bolts and some header nuts and 3 studs probably
but thanks for all the help guys
