if the bov leaks air while in boost, will that cause the car to go slower? if i tighten it, should i feel a difference?

does it make noise while you on the throttle or is it when you let off the throttle?

i now have a wrx, and you cant hear the turbo spool nor the BOV at all as long as the car is stock. people take off this resonator, or "silencer" from the intake of the car, then you start to hear the actualy turbo spool and the BOV goes off, but barely. thats why maybe youre not hearing the wastegate or turbo spool, but on your car, you do. the hks flutters a lot at low boost, partial throttle. hth

the shhhshhhh sound that your talking about is probably the compressed air running through your charge pipes.

sometimes the BOV comes loose and while at ilde in vacuum the valve sometimes stays open.. the car has to boost in order for the valve to shut which will make you car slower in the lower RPM. you can tighten the screw on the top to keep the valve closed.
