In car vid, and pics of my prelude race car.
Hi guys,
This was the 2010 “hyperfest” weekend races at Summit-Point raceway. There was about 150 race cars total split into 3 different run groups. The Honda-challenge had about 20 cars, and we shared the track with about 30 other race cars for our run group (mostly Mazda Miata’s). They had about 7,500 drunken spectators there this year for the races and other festivities!
I got 2nd on Saturday and 1st on Sunday, So I got a few free tires, and a set of brake pads!
My crew chief (the wife) loves it when I win free stuff.

I used to run 215/45/16 on a stock prelude without a problem. Not sure how much bigger you can go I think maybe 225/45/16 would also work.
I use 245/45/16 on my race car but had to wack on a a few things with a big rubber mallet to make them not rub.

Very nice races
Just one question. in the first video what is that red light that gets brighter and dims as you drive thats on the dash, in the 3 light cluster?

walt i had nuthin for the H22's on the straights...
Nice Video!! My car looks bad ars from the rear, haha. Good driving, thanks for not ramming me on the 1st lap there a few times! I do love the power of the H22 on tracks with long straights like at Summit-Point! My car loves that track. On a track like Mid-Ohio I have a much harder time with the lower HP / lighter cars.
Pro-tip: the Falken 452's in 225/45/16's run out of tread faster than a slick. It's stupid. I put probably 3-4 months on them before they were crap. Don't be cheap, get the BFG G-forces. Great tires! Take it from a Discount Tire Service Tech.
I love the way you carry your speed and go WOT through that sweeper at like ~4:03. Seems like it would take a lot of confidence/skill to do that.

However, I was hoping to pick your brain a bit. Above you say that you used to run 215/45/16. I'm curious what brand of tire you used? I'm looking to keep my stock SH wheels but was also hoping for a slightly larger contact patch (hence 215). However, there's only a handful of tires that are available in that size. I've actually had more luck finding 215/55/16 than any other combination (50, 45 or otherwise) through Tirerack and Discount Tire. your opinion is appreciated.
Falken Azenis RT-615K are a good tire and come in 216/45/16. That's what I used and liked them. Just don't expect to get anywere near 40K miles like a normal streat would out of them. They make a great streat / auto-x / track day tire if that's what you are looking for.
Not sure if this was directed at me, but currently I'm running Tein S-techs. This is a daily driver but it will see circuit days at least twice a year. I've grown comfortable with the fact that I'll prolly end up getting 55 series since I've had bad luck with pot holes in the past; it's mainly the gearing reduction and unsprung weight I'm concerned about.

Once there was no one around to mess up his lines it looks like. Did that Accord bump you towards the beginning of the Sunday race? Looked like the car took a hard jolt right before he passed you. And do you run a standard 5G steering rack? It just looks like your car turns quicker than that
Got a question on ur website with the car specs i says u change the valve springs that's it what type cams are u running and are u making power to 8600rpm

We have to use OEM cams in H2 and that's what I'm using. The head has a 5 angle valve job, intake and exhaust port matching (1" into the head max), and decked to get compression up to 10.5:1 (max for h2). The TB is from a S2000 so that also helps it breath. I know a lot of people say you can't make power over 7500 rpm on OEM cams but trust me my car does. In fact I wish I could safely rev it higher because it is making really good power up there! ....also I'm using a 3" diameter exhaust which helps the high RPM power. Note: I'm probably giving up power under 5K RPM but I don't care cuz I never let them fall that low in a race.
