So my 2000 Accord, F23A4 was showing error code P1486 first thing is to replace thermostat. When I pull out the old T-Stat there is only a shell (no spring nothing) I looked around for pieces of the old T-Stat but nothing. Put in new T-stat but I wonder where the old pieces might be.

Any ideas.

 

U sure there was none, maybe previous onwer installed like that.

 

probably in the radiator. Hopefully the rad will hold it all if that's where it went.
