Starter question. help please.

well i think the holes wont line up if i remember right... but you can always adjust the holes with like a drill bit.
It should. There should be no fundimental difference between the two starters because they both effect the flywheel/flexplate which are basically the same thing. All bolts should line up. All else fails call an autp parts store and see if there are two different types of starters for the two different models.
I know this because I've personally installed both brands of this particular starter on various models of '84-91 Civics with either transmission. It will work.
Nope; everything lines right up.
For the USDM, all '84-91 Civics can use the same starter regardless of transmission. Newer Civics use different starters for automatic vs. manual.
For the USDM, all '90-93 Integras use the same starter regardless of transmission. '94+ Integra models used a different starter for automatic vs. manual.

I took a starter off of a 1989 DX hatchback with an automatic, and put it on my 1991 civic STD model with a 1988 tranny and flywheel. The old starter was a direct drive, and this new one is a gear reduction(the two different options for the ef civics) and it works fine.
