Car to low for alignment rack
So took my EK to Tires Plus for alignment a few weeks back and noticed they had a very hard time with the rack, they had to get 2 guys to lift the the rear by the fender well on each side to drive it onto the rack...Needless to say I looked at them with horror from the other side of the glass in their waiting room.
I'm only tucking the front just a bit but the back still has like a 2 finger gap.
Note: They laid out some pieces of wood on the floor as I knew they should have handy for lowered cars.
Should some place have like an in ground rack or a better system to get this done?

It's common. I've heard horror stories. Tons of places will give you all kinds of hell for even moderately lowered cars. I try to stay away from places like that because it indicates that they don't really have a clue about the theory behind suspension geometry.
I'd think they should have some planks or something though.

Or a performance shop that deals with slightly modified cars on a day to day basis, they usually know someone right off the bat who will know how to handle your car's situation... And not charge you an arm and a leg like the stealership will..
I don't know, I went to tire kingdom's performance store and they charged me like $120 because it was lowered. I think next time I'm going to go with firestone's lifetime alignment, they have gotten my car on their lift before without issues, they just wouldn't do it because they said I needed tie rods. My car was really low at the time, tucked a little in the rear and maybe pinkie finger gap up front.
well if you don't already have tie rods they can't just be thrown in...so they're idiots. looks like your still lookin for a place to get it done.
120? you could just buy new tires for that much.

Excellent idea, I should have thought of that.
Deal is I got lifetime alignment at tiresplus and my passanger side tie rod is going bad so i'll replace it, remove the bumper and get the car aligned.
Think i should replace both sides while i'm at it? The car pulls a bit to the right and steering wheel shakes between 60-70 mph?

i just followed this and it worked out fine. it's not 100% accurate, and you can only really do 0 toe.

So I ran and bought an OEM mount drove home to replace it....the mount is dirty yes (car has 130k 96') but the rubber is intact.
So my guess is either tie rod end going bad..inner/outer/both, ball joint, control arm(s) or bearing.
A buddy of mine suggested that it could be the axle as this mostly noted on acceleration.
