VTEC KILLER cams
I know this is a forced induction question in general but i feel that this setup would be a drag only setup anyways but has anyone tried the old toda vtec killer cams on a big turbo setup?
I never really have heard much about them, except a few videos on youtube of cars that sounded awesome! Aren't roller setups similar in function to the vtec killers?
Yes rollers are the same in the way that you are always on the big lobe. I think you have to have roller cams thou. I have the old phantom grip rocker arms in my NA car. I am pretty sure that Miller and Tony are using a roller setup.
IMO the vtec killers were a good idea, but bad for the OEM rocker pads. If you're really looking for an aggressive profile then you really should consider Web or Ferrea. It's the safest way to run the big stuff.

That is the only car that I know of that runs vtec killers. They are Todas, and I think it made good power. The video is of it on Howard Shoaf's dyno. I do not think they were able to tune it up as high as he would have liked. I believe some issues with ignition started arising, but nonetheless it still made good power and it sounds good. I think there is a video of his first time at the track with it, where he destroyed a transmission. Since I think he has tried to bulletproof the tranny a little with some new PPG gears.

From my understanding they're using Radius extended rockers...
roller rockers is what they are using. I guess this thread will never get input since its such a rare cam and "not many people" would try this.
Ahh I see...Whos roller rocker setup they running?
Nothing about what the "toda" vtec killer setup is rare. Web offers a vtec killer setup that many people are using. It is not a roller, but a crome moly extended radius pad with slightly higher ratio. Hope this helps sir
Here is a link I happen to find on T1s site

well im talking about VTEC killers as the Toda version, thats their name. Iguess tony maybe using those special rockers...but i knowsome of the outlaw guys are using the crower or ferrea roller rocker setups.
That is my car in the video posted above. We were skeptical about trying those particular cams but we made decent power, were not able to finish the night not because of ignition problems but over heating issues. First pass at track was 10.4 at 135, and destroyed second gear on second pass. I have since corrected with Liberty's Gears parts and am hoping for its next track appearance at the SICC event at Fayetteville.

Chris' car has the ferra vtec killers with roller rockers....not the toda setup. Although I did have a set of the toda's in a b series setup.
We got a good deal on the ferra's so Chris and I decided to try them out...everyone told us we wouldn't make any power with them....
695 at 27 psi.....I guess we aren't making any power! We backed up the power at Rockingham running a 10.4 at 135 on the first pass with a horrid 1-2 shift.
Second pass we killed/destroyed the tranny. Have been battling ignition problems on the street.
We are shaving over 100lbs out of the car currently. We hope she'll go a high 9 on the next pass!

Hey Travis, didn't realize that was you. I knew it had to be someone who knew me knowing the details you did. I am not sure of all the specs on the cams, I do know that every mustang and camaro i have run across on the street the driver usually drops there jaw when my 4 cylinder is camming harder than their V8... Chad and myself were very surprised with the results, and very pleased with how quick the 40R spools. Other than being so loud the car is still streetable.
