Default Is tthis a 92-95 Spoiler on my 2000 EX?

Now, there are paint fades from a previous wing, so this one isn't factory. All the 96-2000 stock wings I've seen hang over the deck lid though. This one ends right on the line. Would a 92-95 wing bolt right up and plug right into the brake system?

Looks like the same aftermarket one I had on my EG.

Check for honda markings or logos to ensure its oe honda.

^Oh damn, it's aftermarket? I have no clue where to look for company insignias. But my bud with a 95 has a wing that looks just like it. I just noticed it while he was filling up and didnt compare side by side, but the mounting holes on the right side have both rusted out, so the wing is just chilling on the lid by shear friction and suction from the water gasket. I'd like to stay with the same wing personally.

And I actually misspoke in my original post. This one hangs over the lid by about 1/4 inch, while the faded paint shapes end right on the deck line, this help?

I mean, if 92-95 look just like this and bolt and plug in directly, I'll just order an oem 92-95 wing and be done with it.

It looks kinda like a 96-98 wing to me. They were very similar to the 99-00, but not as tall.

That said (and I could be wrong), but I also think it's aftermarket. I think the third brakelight is much wider than the OEM piece.

If it's OEM, it *should* have the Civic logo recessed on the underside. That doesn't guarantee that it's OEM, but if it's missing, that should be a dead giveaway that it's not.

Take more pics.

^ I specifically do not want the tall ones, which is why I want to find out which one this is. I know the 2000 are taller and the mounting points are more slimmer and elongated toward the engine. I like this wing. Now by aftermarket, do you just mean oem copy? If it's that, it's fine, because that is the same type of wing I was planning to buy - oem copy.

Vin!!! You're right! Just from this angle, I can tell this '96 wing matches mine bolt for bolt! Thanks! Now, ordering 96-98, is it just preference? Because they'll all still come new.

This is an OEM '96-'98 Civic coupe spoiler.

'99-'00 coupe spoilers are about twice as tall, say CIVIC ebossed on the underside and has a short LED bar. The '96-'98 spoilers don't say CIVIC on the underside and have the long LED bar about as wide as the license plate garnish.

Markings on the '96-'98 coupe spoiler include:

On the driver's side (left side) of the LED bar it says STANLEY.

There are 3 screws on the underside of the LED bar holding it on.

The LED bar has LEDs in it and it's very uncommon for them to burn out. If you have a burnt out section there's a good chance it's light bulbs and therefore aftermarket.

My LED bar (which is OEM) says on the driver's (left) side: STANLEY 050-8703
On the passenger (right) side: SAE U 88 DOT

They might not all have the same numbers, but they will all say Stanley on them.

I believe '92-'95 Civic coupe spoilers have a shorter LED bar than the '96-'98 coupes do, but I could be wrong.

^^This is all probably correct. NOFX pwns OEM minutiae.

I thought it looked odd because I have a 99-00 spoiler, and that's what I'm used to seeing. I figured the 96-98 had the embossed Civic logo like mine does, but that's apparently 99-00 only.

As far as which year to order: they should all be the same between 96 and 98. I understand not wanting the tall one... I've gotten used to not being able to see out my back window for 8 years with my 99-00 spoiler.

Thanks.

IIRC, all the part numbers (given the same color) are the same for all '96-'98 coupe spoilers. Either way, they all fit.

There are at least some '01-'05 spoilers that also have CIVIC embossed on the underside, but the font is that of the 7th gen Civic instead of the 6th gen Civic like the '99-'00 Civic spoiler has.

Oh, and I live in WA now. Still have that plate though. It's signed by Eric Melvin too. :D He thought it was cool.

Those photos were taken in Camden-Wyoming and Woodland Beach (which actually has much more interesting history than I ever figured), respectively. Ahh... I still miss the east.

Ohio is alright. At least it's not Cali.

Now, what properties make Flamenco Black special to Gloss or Universal? Would you know? It could save me a bit in paint if I don't have to buy specialty.

Flamenco Black Pearl has a pearl in it. Without the pearl it will not match.
