Default Aftermarket PWR Windows or Not?

So i recently bought this crx, my second one, except this one is edm. now it has power windows but the driver side is intermittently failing. i will roll it down and it wont roll up. when i press the switch to roll up i can hear the motor make a click noise like it wants to work but doesnt. my question is where can i get a motor for it cuz from what i have read so far that is the likely cause, but also how can i tell if this is an aftermarket install? its got the hand crank holes blocked off so i assume it would be an aftermarket and i would just put hand cranks back in. any help out there would be awesome!

Just replace the window actuator.
I believe you could make one work from a sedan, or hatchback.

Were there any other cars (like a Civic 4 door or something) that used the same power window motor? Are there any Honda dealers nearby or wrecking yards that may have a car with usable parts?

It's not hard to find a junk yard in your area. Google it.

Yeah, I'm thinking he can find a local yard with some usable parts in it, even in Germany.

i used a window motor off of a 99 integra. you'll just have to drill out two holes to bolt the motor on your door

If you can give me the year and VIN of your edm CRX and a part number from the electric motor, I will see what I can find for you here in Japan. Do you or a friend have direct access to a Military Post Office Box (MPS), I can ship you one for free delivery (no insurance though in case it comes up missing, no probs yet).

You still need to properly troubleshoot it though, take the door panel off, disconnect the motor wires from the door harness, hotwire the motor direct to a battery and see if it works both ways with no problem, still doesnt go up, lube the tracks, still doesnt go up, remove the glass, still doesnt go up, pull the motor, give me the number, set up a PAYPAL account or send me a money order from the post office (cheapest) after I research it for you and you are good to go for a great price. Good used part of course, a new motor in Japan is around $200 give or take a little, if you want new, of course I will research that also for you.

Take a closer look and let me know. PM me.

i am going to scope it out more tomorrow night, didnt have too much time or motivation to look at it further tonight. the window is stuck all the way down so its more difficult to get at the bolts i need to get at. i appreciate the help though for sure. i will have to check it out. the only address i have available is an APO not sure if thats the same as MPS though.

APO is your location, MPS is the service, I can mail to you for free but if the part gets lost, there is no insurance but I never had a problem yet is several years.

so i took the whole unit out tonight and checked it directly at the battery. it moves up and down ok. then i took the plug from the door and plugged it into the motor as if it was in the car. down but not up. and no click on the up this time. so it must be in the switch possibly? not very good with following electricity but i have a good idea. any suggestions? i would have to assume the motor is good at this point considering the above.
