Default b20vtec question, which cam?

wanted to know what cam would be good for midrange power since im going to be running a stock b20vtec, only plan on taking it to 7500 rpms. just needed your guys opinion whom have alot of experience with b20v builds. also using the stock itr valvetrain

specs:

-2000 itr head, (ditching the itr cams maybe)
-stock b20b block
-hondata s200
-bisimoto headers
-itr tranny

thanks

maybe the 190 range 200 is a lil hard to reach with itr cams but being that you have the stock b20 pistons you can run anything bigger then itr cams without having piston to valve issues but who knows anything is possible

dont stock ITR cams power out around 180..?? i would say a set of street blox cams, or skunk tuner 1's will break the 200whp mark... either way, invest in some 310injectors, IM, and TB...that will help alot

he wont be able to run those cams because of the valve reliefs of the b20 pistons i mean he can risk it but he has atleast a 80 percent chance of the pistons hitting the valves

it has a blox manifold with itr throttle bodie on it, i was planning on running a set of rc injectors dont know what size yet, so blox or skunk2 cams will have valve and piston issues? bec ive been told otherwise

yes i wouldnt run anything bigger then itr cams unless you cut the valve reliefs on the pistons or get some rs machine pistons

i would get pistons but its to much of a hassle right now, im just looking for a high 13's car right now, my friends setup in a ej1 ran 14.2, which is what im doing. would the bisimoto headers with the stock itr head put me there? as well with the injectors and hondata, and good tune?

i know the rod bolts are weak but has anyone done a similar setup to mines going to 7500? also installing a pcv and breather kit, would this also benefit me?

That dyno has nothing to do with this thread, hes staying with stock pistons.

You may want to get some port work if you're pushing for 200whp. It will be hard, but who knows...you may get lucky. And I wouldn't run anything bigger than ITR cams. That's just asking for trouble. You probably don't know if or how much your head has been milled?

Also, your rod bolts are going to be perfectly fine to 7500. I had a friend who pushed his to 8200-8500. And it didn't even make power that high.

Stock LS rod bolts will handle 9k rpm. I've personally done it on one of my builds which had over 75k miles before I opened it up to replace the rings.
